As I said in my previous post, giving gifts is a major way that I like to express love
In part one of my gift guide here, I have chosen some things that, intuitively, I think would make a woman happy. Over time, though, I have learned that if a present is going to rock a recipient’s world, there’s also got to be some technique involved. Putting myself in her shoes is an important one. As a mom, daughter and friend, it helps me to pinpoint what I would desire if I were her. And then I let the imagination fly.
Trying too hard can sometimes play against you when it comes to choosing the right thing. My suggestion is to stick to basics, rather than going over the top. Remember that, after all, you’re saying to your recipient: “I thought of you, because I love you.” Not “I bought you the flashiest gift because I love you!”

Hi delfi and happy holidays — I’m enjoying your blog but may I may one small suggestion about your gift suggestion list? I would rethink the Ben carson quote — a lot of people here in the US (myself included) think he’s incompetent, at least as a politician, and doesn’t belong in office (as the secretary of hud). I was enjoying your list but then the Carson quote made me gag…
I am so sorry to hear about Hilario. that had to be so frightening. i can’t even imagine. i watch polo…from the sidelines..and have never seen such an injury i am happy to say. I hope he will be better soon and make a full and complete recovery
Ok I am glad Hilario is coming along. Oh boy but ok carry on!
I like very much all your gift suggestions but especially the Calpak. very stylish and the price is right.
Thank you for all your sweet posts of your sweet familyon instagram. i always look forward to them and they brighten our days.
