Camera: The reason of why I like my Leica is the following: I think when was the first time I held a camera, an image of me sitting on my grandfather’s lap, comes to my mind. He had a tiny tiny camera on his bony eighty something year old hand, while retelling a story about the time he went to the summer Olympics in 1936. Him and his Argentine sailing team had made it aboard THE GRAF ZEPELLIN to Berlin. I remember, curiously examining that peculiar artifact, that now I come to the conclusion that it may have been one of those miniature Lecia cameras. We were going thru some old aereal photos that he had secretly snapped during the flight of some places in the coast of Brasil. He had several Leica cameras on his secret drawer. And I well remember his mischievous smile about the fact that he had managed to snap those photos from the air, with the help of this tiny small camera. He pointed at his chest, with his hand showing where he would have a front pocket on his jacket, and he would hide it right inside it. I’m not exactly sure how old I was, but I’m thinking like 3 or 4. He passed when I was almost 6. And what he left in me is the passion for photography & design. And the bohemian spirit inside me. I know that he would have loved our stables.
Almost 15 years ago, my mom came home, with a package asked to open it. As I was unwrapping this little tissue paper, aged and stained, I could feel my exitement rising, and hopefully revealling, one of his 35mm Leica. I’m still hoping that miniature one appears one day in a forgotten box on my mother’s closet.
My life nowadays is very much about traveling, and being on the road with my family. So I have developed a really good eye, out of necessity, for what is best to carry along, and what is not.
This little Leica, that Nacho bought a few years back in their LA store, helps me get the most out of my trips. It’s compact so it’s easy to fit in your pocket, or even a small purse. It’s wifi enabled to make your photos immediately available con your phone and ready to post. The quality of the shots are great. So your pictures will always be amazing for any use. Also, another great feature about this wifi connection is that you can remotely take photos. Using the Image Shuttle app that you download to operate the camera, you control the shot from your phone. Its my favorite feature. I use it a lot to shoot for the blog and instagram.
Additionally, I suggest that you keep it inside a pouch. That way you won’t ever have to worry about scratches. You snap and you go. Finally, I do suggest that you get 2 extra batteries as backup, if you’re going to be looking at shots or doing lots of transfers to phone.
The design is so cool, but personally, I love it because it reminds me of my grandfather.

every time I see a leika, I think so fondly of my dear grandpa, too!! He always believed in buying the best quality, and leika was no exception. He owned & loved horses, as well!

I think I’m always repeating myself in my comments, but -for real- I have had my eye on a Leica for years. I went to their soho shop and became jnfaruared. That was like 7 yrs ago. I was unaware about the feature! Okay, Leica and David Austin flowers on my list!
